POSITION INFORMATION 

Job Title: Facility Technician 

Division: Cultivation, Operation Grow, LLC  

Department: Facilities 

Reports To: Facility Director 

Classification: Non-Exempt 

Status: Part-Time Hourly 

STANDARDS

PURPOSE  

The Facility Technician reports to the Facility Director and will be responsible for duties outlined below.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:  

Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed/necessary

  • Managing access control
  • Receive packages delivered to the facility, promptly notifying the responsible personnel for warehouse deliveries and/or receive the deliveries yourself
  • Notifying responsible persons that people are here. This includes but is not limited to people from the CRA, BFS, Flint City Police and Vendors/Visitors
  • Complete walkthroughs of the facility, looking for alarms, leaks, faults, or other concerns, and notify the proper person(s) or address the concern on your own as trained
  • Assist with all components of the Unifi systems, Sonitrol System, and all other systems equipment that monitors the building conditions
  • Receive and log payments delivered to the facility
  • Ensure that the security office is clean and orderly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum High School or G.E.D equivalent required
  • Must pass Background Check

  • Sat-Sun 1st Shift 6am-6pm
  • Sat-Sun 2nd Shift 6pm-6am

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, lift, and walk. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must complete walk-throughs both inside and outside of the facility. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close/distanced vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is not usually quiet.

Standard office environment but with travel to retail and warehouse environment with artificial lighting and ventilation, and warehouse conditions including:

  • Potential for mold exposure
  • Potential for allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to the marijuana plants
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) may be encountered. CO2 can displace oxygen at high concentrations. CO2 exposure can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, rapid breathing, and increased heart rate; in extreme cases, unconsciousness and death can result.  
  • The warehouse is properly ventilated, however, marijuana cultivation produces ozone from the chemical reaction of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds, such as terpenes that are given off from the marijuana plant. Terpenes and nitric oxides can be associated with eye, skin, and mucous irritation. In some people, ozone can cause decreased lung function and/or exacerbate pre-existing health effects, especially in workers with asthma or other respiratory complications. PPE in the form of respiratory protection may be recommended in certain parts of the warehouse.
